Export volume of Peugeot-Citroën’s “small cannon” breaking through 100,000

On March 28, Peugeot-Citroën’s 100,000th 1.2THP export-oriented engine came off the production line out of Xiangyang Plant, indicating that batch export business of Peugeot-Citroën’s powertrains steps into a new phase, which will compose a new chapter for French and Chinese shareholders to deepen strategic cooperation and realize win-win cooperation.

Peugeot-Citroën’s 1.2THP turbocharged direct-injection engine has long been known as “small cannon”. Since June 2017 when PSA Group has determined the batch export orders, export volume of Peugeot-Citroën’s “small cannon” has been increasing continuously. Especially with the continuous increase of air transport orders this year, Xiangyang Plant’s EB production center has gone all out, with the production mode of “11 hours + 11 hours” each day, and 6.5 days each week, to ensure the delivery of export-oriented engines. Current daily output is up to 800 vehicles.

It is learned that the export orders of such engine have kept increasing continuously, and the estimated export volume in the first half of this year is up to 90,000 vehicles. In the second half of this year, Peugeot-Citroën will export EB second-generation engines, which have received an export order of 130,000 engines. It is the first time that Peugeot-Citroën launches up-to-date engines overseas, which is strategically significant to seize overseas market opportunities and deepen global cooperation with shareholders.
