With an R & D investment of 550 million yuan, the project will cover mainstream segments. Over 10 models up to first-class international standards will be planned with a driving range of 350km to 500km and a maximum speed of 150km/h, including DongFeng Peugeot and DongFeng Citroen second-generation electric vehicles. The first electric vehicle will be launched in 2019, and the three parties will share intellectual property.
This is the core information of the Agreement on Joint Development of "Electric Common Modular Platform (eCMP)" signed by DFM, PSA and DPCA at the Midterm Business Plan ("5A+ Plan") Release Conference of DongFeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Ltd. (DPCA) on May 11. This agreement was another achievement after DFM and PSA signed the Agreement on "Common Modular Platform (CMP)" in April 2015.
According to the source, with prominent advantages and features such as light weight, modularization, intelligenization and international design, eCMP is an extension of CMP, the deepening of cooperation and the electric version of CMP. The preliminary research on eCMP has been completed. In project management and development team building, the new platform will absorb world leading technologies, draw on successful international experience, integrate and coordinate superior resources from all sides, and be developed into a strategic platform for the electric vehicle development of DFM, PSA and DPCA.
DFM will strive to achieve annual sales of over 300,000 new energy vehicles by 2020, holding a share of 15 percent to 18 percent in the Chinese market. After the launch of eCMP, DFM will share this platform and the electric vehicle will become a new growth pole of DFM and DPCA in the future.
At the release conference on May 11, DFM and PSA also signed the Agreement on Strategic Cooperation in Human Resources, marking that the strategic cooperation between the two sides will extend from business and technical cooperation to other important fields such as human resources management and cultural exchange & fusion. According to another source, on May 10, PSA and DPCA also held the signing ceremony of the agreement on joint development of new-generation 1.8THP high-end turbocharged direct injection engines. With the constant increase in the consensus between DFM and PSA, the constant broadening of the cooperation range and the gradual increase in business projects, the cooperation will set a good example for global automotive strategic alliance and cooperation.
